New coffee shops have popped up around Erie High School Students bringing up the question of which is better, Starbucks, Ziggis, or Dutch? Each of these shops offers a menu that caters to different tastes and preferences.
Starbucks, with its massive global presence and wide range of coffee and non-caffeinated drinks appeal to those looking for consistency. From their classic lattes to seasonal specials, Starbucks has something for everyone. With Starbucks you can never go wrong no matter if you go for teas of any crafted coffee drink.
Senior Chase expresses his love for Starbucks, “I love Starbucks because they make my favorite drink, the caramel macchiato.”
Turning attention to Ziggis. Ziggis stands out for its locally owned hospitality and kind baristas. The warm and welcoming atmosphere coupled with their community, creates a sense of connection and authenticity that lacks in larger chain coffee shops.
Sophomore Molly Maiocco who raves about Ziggis, “ Ziggis has a lot of dutch bro type drinks along with Starbucks type drinks. I usually get the Sunbeam”. The Sunbeam is an energy drink with vanilla and lavender flavors.
Unlike Starbucks they have energy infusion drinks that may appeal to more of a different audience. Especially those who want caffeine and don’t like the taste of coffee. It is also now central in Erie recently being built on Erie parkway.
Dutch Bros is known for its energetic baristas and flavorful drink options. The menu includes unique drinks like rebels and smoothies, making it a favorite among students looking for a sweet and indulgent treat.
They also have a wide variety of traditional and delicious coffee drinks. There is no shortage of options at Dutch with teas, coffees and more. There’s almost always music pouring out the windows and excited baristas.
They now have a new option of boba at their location in Thornton, a go to for Erie High School Students. Dutch Bros’ has many unique drinks that make it stand out from the competition as well as good pricing.
Talking to sophomore Larkin Rummel ,she explains why she loves Dutch Bros, “I like the red bull infusions more than Starbucks refreshers.” Much like Ziggis there is many caffeinated drink options for energy drink lovers.
After interviewing the students, it becomes apparent the best coffee shop is truly subjective on individual preferences. Each coffee shop caters to a unique aspect of the high school experience, and go perfect with classes throughout the day.
