Christmas in Erie

As the world gets ready to celebrate the biggest holiday of the year, Erie Colorado and it’s 34,000 citizens are showing off their festive decorations and holiday spirit throughout the town.

Neighborhoods, businesses, and stores old and new, are all in the Christmas spirit eager for the day to come. Aura colliers hill, is an apartment complex just on the other side of the intersection at Erie High. Even though residents have roughly 60 square foot patios, they still find ways to decorate with what they have. Aura has found ways to decorate for their community, celebrating not only Christmas, but Hanukkah too.

Filling their club house with Poinsettia (Christmas) flowers, Christmas trees, a Hanukkah stand, and gifts, Aura is filled with festive traditions. Nathan Prystash, a resident in the neighborhood at Aura says, “I go there after school nearly every day. Whether it’s studying, playing pool, and getting hot chocolate, it’s the perfect place to get in the Christmas spirit and have a good time.”

Aura also finds ways to draw people into their complexes by offering astonishing add-ons. Offering an all year round open pool and hot tub, as well as a gym with modern exercise machines such as peloton bikes, and a peloton MIRROR to give residents a chance to do whatever it is that gets them going. Aura also has put in study pods near the east end of the clubhouse, to help workers or students get work done in a closed, personal, environment to help them focus.

Also offering a series of refreshments, with a coffee machine in the main living space that has a multitude of coffees, and hot chocolate for more diverse options, they have shown that Christmas is an important part of their community.

As we all are eager for the day to come, Christmas is being represented by places all over erie. With houses adorned with twinkling lights, and Christmas trees shining through windows, Aura  will get you right into the Christmas spirit. Whether you’re in the snowy rockies, or in the suburban city of Louisville, Erie is worthwhile to check out during your holiday season.
