Ski Season is Back

Ski+Season+is+Back

Colorado is ready and eager to welcome ski season back. Many of the mountains are opening just in time for Christmas break to allow people from Colorado and out of state to make memories up on the slopes.

People are buying the Icon and Epic pass so they can get up to the mountains as much as they can. The Icon includes mountains in Aspen, Copper, Eldora, and Arapahoe Basin. The epic pass includes Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, and Vail. Ski Season is a very important part of the winter season in Colorado and means a lot to many people.

Former Ski Racer and resident of Vail, Junior Tayor Hale expresses, “Ski Season is really special to me because I grew up living in the mountains and was always skiing and racing with my sister.”

The ski season provided Hale with many unforgettable memories with her friends and family. She looks forward to Ski season every year because she gets to reunite with old friends. Junior Sam Beach also relates, “Skiing is one of my favorite activities for me and my family to do when my brother comes home for college”. Skiing and snowboarding is a great way to bond and have fun with others, and it’s a great way to meet new people.

“Skiing has created lifelong friendships and connections for me and it’s nice to be able to watch young kids have the same opportunities” Taylor elaborates.

Hale has also found a way to get up to the mountains often by becoming a ski instructor for little kids. Working with the little kids reminds her of when she was younger and allows her to help others create memories.

Skiing is such a vital part of Colorado culture and has had a major impact on many lives every season. Each year people get to make more memories and experiences with new and familiar people.
