As the vibrant leaves of Erie’s trees transform from a lush green to warm shades of red, orange, and gold, the students of Erie High School eagerly welcome the crisp air and the unmistakable arrival of fall. From pumpkin spice lattes to Halloween costumes and cozy clothing, there’s no denying that autumn is in full swing at Erie High School.

The scent of pumpkin spice lattes wafts through the hallways of Erie High School as students line up at the nearby coffee shop during their morning break. Students can be found sipping these warm, fragrant drinks in the courtyard, celebrating the arrival of the season.  Campus Supervisor Van Lindemann shared his excitement, saying, “I love pumpkin spice lattes.. they are delicious and they only come once a year so I take advantage of October.”

Pumpkin carving has become a cherished tradition at Erie High School. Students and teachers alike look forward to the annual pumpkin carving event. It’s a time for creativity, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition. Reagyn Allen, a sophomore, enthusiastically shared her favorite part, saying, “I love carving pumpkins because it is fun and I can be creative.”

Although Thanksgiving is still a few weeks away, students are already talking about their holiday plans. Many are excited to gather with family and friends, share a delicious meal, and express gratitude for the things that matter most. Sophomore Molly Maiocco explains how she enjoys, “getting to see my family is great, but the food is so, so good.”

As the temperatures drop, students are embracing the opportunity to showcase their autumn fashion. Sweatpants, hoodies, and uggs are making a comeback in their daily attire. The hallways are filled with a kaleidoscope of fall colors, and flare leggings have become the unofficial uniform of the season.  Senior Olivia Schlett shared her fashion insights, saying, “I’m all about fall fashion!  I love wearing my hoodies and sweatpants and not getting hot.”

As the days grow shorter and the air crisper, the students of Erie High School are reveling in all the joys that fall has to offer. From the warmth of pumpkin spice to the excitement of Halloween, the season is a time of celebration and anticipation, reminding everyone that even as the leaves fall, new opportunities and experiences await.
