Kids Summer Lunch Program

Erie Uplinks new program that provides lunch to kids for free.

Erie Uplink is always doing the most for our community with charitable programs such as TigerPacks, food drives, and other fundraisers that are run by those wanting to give to support those in need. A new program that will be implemented in the coming months is the Kids Summer Lunch Program, which was made possible through a partnership with the St. Vrain Valley School District, which will provide free lunch to all kids under the age of 18 through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)  summer meal program.

This program runs from June 4 -July 26, with no lunch on July 4th or July 5th, and begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m. the program will be held at Coal Miners Park (147 Cheesman St. Erie), a close walk or drive for many citizens in Erie. On top of that, Erie Uplink is funding meals for any adults or seniors who are in need of a meal.

Not only will kids be able to enjoy a nutritious lunch, but they will get to participate in fun activities before their meal. These activities include puppet shows, outdoor games, exploring space, and many more fun, enriching activities that are hosted by people right within our community.

There is no need to register for the program, simply show up and Uplink will provide you with what you need. If there is anyone to thank, thank the founders of Erie Uplink: Lisa Knudsen, Lexie Cire, and Stephanie Short. This program, created by the help of these three amazing women,  is no doubt a shining example of the selflessness that thrives within Erie and one can only hope that it will benefit those in need. Make sure to tell your friends about this amazing program and continue to support Erie Uplink and their journey to support this community!
