The Erie Tigers high school dance team is gearing up for another shot at the state championship, set to take place this Thursday, December 12th, 2024. Having already clinched the state title twice in previous years, the team is no stranger to the pressures of high-stakes competition.
Analiese Walsh, a senior on the Erie dance team, believes that her team has really grown closer together this year. She describes a memorable moment here and her team had with a hip hop choreographer, “We had a Hip Hop Choreographer fly out, he had a really good inspirational talk with us, we all worked together and it was a really cool bonding experience.”
Under the guidance of their dedicated coach, the team has been working tirelessly to perfect their routines. Their hard work and determination have not only earned them accolades but also the respect and admiration of the Erie community. The dancers are known for their precision, creativity, and the captivating energy they bring to every performance.
Maggie Deakin, a Junior on the Erie dance team, says that likes to go through her routines consistently to make sure she’s always got it down. “I make sure I get a lot of sleep and always eat a good breakfast,” she explains.
Kendall Hoffner, another senior on the Erie dance team, said “this week we’ve been focusing more on ourselves rather than the other teams.” Taking on a new approach will hopefully maintain the high standards this Erie dance team has been held to.
As they head into this year’s championship, the Erie Tigers are focused on maintaining their winning streak and adding another trophy to their collection. The entire school and local community are rallying behind them, eager to see the team shine once again on the state stage.
