Mrs. Butte, one of Erie High School’s most dedicated science teachers, has made a lasting impact on her students through her engaging and supportive teaching style. Three years ago, she taught 8th grade science at Erie Middle School, Mrs. Butte then transitioned to Erie High, where she now teaches chemistry and AP biology, helping students tackle challenging material while fostering a love for science.
“Mrs. Butte has this way of making even the most complicated concepts easy to understand,” said Georgiana Jones, a junior who takes AP Biology and had Chemistry last year with Mrs. Butte. “For the first semester of AP Bio, you have it everyday. Mrs. Butte does a good job at making everyday interesting for us.”
Mrs. Butte is known for her interactive lessons and her ability to connect with students. Whether guiding them through complex chemical equations or exploring biological systems, she strives to make science relevant and approachable.
“Teaching is about helping students see that they’re capable of understanding tough material,” Mrs. Butte said. “It’s not just about memorizing facts but about thinking critically and building confidence.”
Students like Jones appreciate Mrs. Butte’s dedication and encouragement, “She’s one of those teachers who genuinely cares about us,” Georgiana said. “Whether it’s AP Bio or chemistry, she challenges us but also makes sure we know she believes in us.”
Mrs. Butte’s passion for science and education has made her a key figure at Erie High School, inspiring students to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
