The 2024-2025 Erie highschool school year is underway and there is alot going on. It is very important to the school to have good security. Last year we welcomed miss Rachel Salaz to the team. She has been a great tradition to Kenny and Ricky.
This is her second year at the school and she is loving it. She loves getting to know the kids. She said “it’s a fun experience and i think it’s really important to form these bonds with the students.” It makes the experience for everyone better. After talking with Erie high school students the school has gotten nothing but good feedback about miss rachel!! Sophomore Teegan Calvo said how he “likes how Miss Rachel tries her best to keep the school as safe as possible.” Along with Salaz’s motivation to keep students safe around campus, freshman Jett Haack explained how he “likes how Miss Rachel’s really kind and helps students with whatever they need.”
She has made change this year and couldn’t have done it without Ricky and Kenny. As we know she loves building bonds with the student but one thing she doesn’t enjoy is having to be the bad guy. I think we can all admit that we can be a struggle sometimes and its Rachel’s job and Kenny and Ricky’s to put us in our place. She is a mom herself so she enjoys spending her time around the kids at Erie.
She’s a mother of two boys her oldest is 22 and her youngest is 18 who is a senior at mead high school this year. Rachel also said how she coaches the girls wrestling at mead high school. She mentioned how it gives her an opportunity to work where her son is as well. “I came here to work at Erie because my son is senior and it gives me an opportunity to actually watch his football games and participate in all the things he has going on. So working at Erie gives her that ability. As well as her saying “there was an opening here, I decided to check it out and here we are.”
The school is very excited to spend another year with Rachel salaz. Rachel cannot wait to see what comes around this school year and is exited to make more connection with the students.
