The Lullabies come out on top. After defeating both Mayton and Schamber, Matt Opperman is able to hold their championship win streak in the Erie Recreation Center Football League.
Throughout their season, the Lullabies have shown impeccable dedication to the game. Their defense and offense were both impossible to overcome. The Lullabies have shown impressive improvement over the spring season, and the score speaks for itself as to why they are the best.
The first game of the season was fairly competitive, only winning by 8 against Mayton. Although the Lullabies were fairly confident going into the playoffs, they still had to earn their way into the final.
As they kick off their day, it is clear that Mayton, who has a tied record of 4-1, is still going to be a competitive game. Going back and forth, the Lullabies meet their match against the run game. They are stopped multiple times, which is a big surprise for the Lullabies fans as they have dominated the regular season. Eventually, they find their rhythm and begin to take the lead. Come second half the Lullabies are able to hold their ground and come out with a 20-12 win.
After a close call with Mayton, the Lullabies are as focused as can be. After an hour break, they must once again go up against John Schamber. Matt Opperman shares, “He wants nothing more than to beat us.” At first, it seems to be a generally close game. Both teams battling it out to be the first one to score. The Lullabies show no remorse, as they control the game from start to finish. As the Lullabies take the lead early, they make it clear that they are here to win. In doing this, they completely dominate the game since they are able to successfully defend and attack.
In the end, the Lullabies are able to have an outstanding season. Winning in the regular season, and the playoffs, the Lullabies combine talent and fun to make a perfect team. Family’s, Friends, and players, victorious or not, are all able to have a great time through the Erie Rec football league. Whether it’s fall or spring, Opperman is able to have a successful season. Making it fun and rewarding for the players, and competitive and exciting for the coaches. Come fall, Opperman and his team will be ready to compete. Until then, the Lullabies hold another title.
